Walk-In Bathtubs in Arden, NC | Two Day Bath and Shower

We are proud to be Western North Carolina’s leading tub and shower installation company.

Two Day Bath and Shower offers dependable, custom-fitted Walk-In Bathtubs in Arden, NC for homeowners who find traditional high-threshold tubs unsafe, uncomfortable, or difficult to navigate. Stepping over a 15-inch tub ledge poses a persistent slipping hazard, especially for seniors, individuals recovering from joint surgery, and residents managing chronic mobility limitations. Arden features a diverse mix of mid-century ranches in Royal Pines, multi-story family homes along Avery Creek, and newer mountain retirement cottages near Glen Arden. Many of these bathrooms retain cramped fiberglass tub-shower units installed decades ago. Navigating these slick, outdated basins causes unnecessary daily anxiety. We replace hazardous tubs with low-threshold walk-in tubs designed for independent bathing, deep hydrotherapy, and long-term peace of mind.

Professional Walk-In Bathtubs in Arden, NC

Two Day Bath and Shower installs Walk-In Bathtubs in Arden, NC with an emphasis on structural durability and safety. Standard acrylic bathtubs flex under pressure and feature slick finishes that increase fall risks. Our walk-in models feature rigid stainless steel internal support frames, durable marine-grade gelcoat surfaces, and textured, slip-resistant floors. Low-entry doors close with watertight compression seals backed by lifetime leak warranties. Instead of climbing over tall thresholds, you step across a threshold measuring only a few inches high.

We understand that bathroom layouts across South Buncombe County vary considerably. Some homes built near the French Broad River basin have compact 60-inch alcoves, while custom properties on surrounding ridges feature expansive master suites. We evaluate your floor plan, subfloor integrity, and electrical panel capacity before ordering equipment. Our team handles every step from precision measurement to final testing, ensuring your tub integrates into your existing space without requiring full-scale drywall teardowns or protracted reconstruction.

Complete Walk-In Bathtubs Services in Arden, NC

Our complete installation service transforms your bathroom into an accessible, spa-like sanctuary in as little as two days. We begin by removing your old cast iron or acrylic tub, inspecting the subfloor for moisture damage, and updating water supply valves. Many Arden homeowners wonder how long does a bathroom remodel take from start to finish when planning tub conversions. Our streamlined process minimizes downtime so you regain full use of your primary bath without weeks of contractor traffic.

Every walk-in tub package includes customized grab bar positioning, anti-scald mixing valves, handheld shower wands, and heated seating options. We coordinate all necessary plumbing adaptations, including 2-inch rapid drains that empty the tub quickly so you never sit chilled waiting to exit. We also install custom surround panels made of non-porous antimicrobial acrylic, eliminating grout lines that harbor mold and mildew. Whether you live in Arden or need regional remodeling like bathroom remodeling in Maggie Valley, NC, we deliver clean, turnkey installations.

Addressing Arden, NC Climate and Local Challenges

Arden experiences cold mountain winters, elevated summer humidity, and significant seasonal temperature swings that impact home plumbing and indoor comfort.

  • Rapid winter chill cools standard bathwater quickly, requiring built-in in-line water heaters to maintain therapeutic soaking temperatures.
  • High summer humidity encourages mildew growth around traditional tile grout, which our seamless acrylic surround walls actively resist.
  • Well water systems common in rural Buncombe properties introduce mineral scale that can clog standard tub jets without proper inline filtration.
  • Cold crawl spaces in mountain homes cause incoming water pipe heat loss, making rapid-fill thermostatic valves essential for comfort.
  • Subfloor settling on sloped Blue Ridge terrain requires our reinforced level-adjusting steel frames to prevent door alignment issues.

Safety Engineering and Hydrotherapy Features

Walk-in tubs provide significant therapeutic benefits alongside critical physical protection. Our units feature strategically placed water and air hydrotherapy jets designed to soothe stiff joints, ease arthritis discomfort, improve blood circulation, and relieve lower back tension. Heated backrests and contoured seats allow you to recline in an ergonomic upright posture without straining your neck or lower spine. Independent pump controls let you adjust jet intensity from gentle lymphatic stimulation to targeted deep-tissue massage.

Physical safety guides every design element. We install ADA-compliant internal grab bars bolted directly to the tub frame rather than flimsy wall mounts. The bi-fold or out-swing doors open effortlessly while remaining completely watertight once latched. Secondary overflow protection systems prevent accidental spillage, and digital push-button consoles keep water controls within arm reach. You gain total control over your bathing routine without reaching, bending, or struggling to stand up from floor level.

Installation Timeline and Plumbing Precision

Installing a walk-in tub demands precise mechanical coordination. Standard household water heaters often supply only 40 to 50 gallons of hot water, whereas deep-soaking walk-in tubs require between 60 and 80 gallons for full submersion. During our preliminary site assessment, we inspect your current water heating setup and electrical panel. If needed, we recommend tank booster valves or dedicated circuits to support rapid-drain pumps and air blowers without tripping household breakers.

On installation day, our factory-certified technicians protect your floors with runners, dismantle the existing tub, and carry debris offsite. We inspect the underlying floor joists to confirm they support the weight of a filled tub, which can exceed 900 pounds including the bather. We reinforce subfloors when necessary, test supply line pressure, route dedicated electrical lines, and seat the tub on its leveling legs. We finish by sealing all edges with silicone caulk and conducting a full water test before walking you through operating procedures.

Arden, NC Walk-In Bathtubs Cost Guide

Walk-in tub costs depend on the dimensions of the basin, hydrotherapy options selected, electrical upgrades, and the extent of subfloor or plumbing adjustments required. Replacing a standard 60-inch alcove unit with existing accessible plumbing represents the lower end of the pricing spectrum. Adding dual jetting systems, microbubble skin therapies, dedicated electrical circuits, and matching wall surrounds increases the total investment.

Tub Package Key Features Ideal Bathroom Scenario Estimated Project Range
Standard Soaking Tub Low step-in, grab bars, textured floor, rapid drain Direct replacement for standard 60-inch alcove tub $6,500 – $9,500
Hydrotherapy Soaker Air and water jets, inline heater, handheld wand Seniors seeking daily relief from arthritis and stiffness $9,500 – $13,500
Full Luxury System Dual jets, microbubbles, heated seat, acrylic surrounds Complete master bathroom accessibility transformation $13,500 – $18,000

We provide comprehensive, upfront written estimates before any work starts. Our estimates include tear-out, equipment, labor, electrical connections, and warranty coverage so you never encounter surprise fees.

FAQs – Walk-In Bathtubs in Arden, NC

How wide does a doorway need to be for a walk-in tub?

Most walk-in tubs require a minimum doorway clearance of 28 to 30 inches for delivery and positioning. In homes with narrower entryways, our installers can temporarily remove interior door frames or select specialized modular models designed for tight spaces. We measure all hallways, doors, and stairwells during your initial in-home assessment.

How quickly does a walk-in tub fill and drain?

Fill time generally takes between six and ten minutes depending on your home water pressure and supply line diameter. Our models incorporate high-capacity two-inch drains and powered evacuation pumps that empty the basin in approximately two minutes. Fast draining ensures you can open the door and exit without sitting uncomfortably in cold water.

Can a walk-in tub fit into my existing shower space?

Yes, walk-in tubs fit directly into standard 60-inch tub and shower alcoves. When replacing a smaller 36-inch or 48-inch standalone shower, extension kits and minor wall adjustments allow a compact walk-in model to integrate seamlessly. We customize trim panels to create a polished, built-in appearance.

Will my current hot water heater be sufficient?

Standard walk-in tubs hold between 50 and 80 gallons of water, which can strain older 40-gallon water heaters. If your system cannot produce sufficient hot water, we can install a digital water heater booster or recommend high-recovery alternatives. We evaluate your existing water heating capacity during our preliminary evaluation.

Are walk-in tubs difficult to clean and maintain?

Our walk-in tubs feature non-porous acrylic and marine-grade gelcoat surfaces that actively repel soap scum, bacteria, and hard water deposits. Cleaning requires only a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive household cleaners. Air jet lines feature automatic purge cycles that blow out residual moisture to prevent bacterial accumulation inside the plumbing.

How long does the installation take from start to finish?

Most walk-in tub conversions take between one and two days to complete. Demolition, subfloor preparation, and rough plumbing occur on day one, followed by tub placement, electrical connections, wall surround installation, and testing on day two. Our efficient workflow minimizes the disruption to your daily routine.

If I could give 10 stars I would. From start to finish I have been more than impressed with this company. Laura the office manager was precise, prompt and on target with scheduling an initial quote for my two bathrooms as well as walking me step by step through what to expect once we agreed to move forward. Baxter was knowledgeable and easy going when meeting to quote the job and even came back out a second time when I decided to make some changes. The crew who completed the jobs Baxter, Hunter and Todd where phenomenal. They were prompt, curtious, friendly and very talented. My bathrooms look amazing I'm still in awe of how they transformed them. Without question do not go anywhere else these folks are just truly fantastic! Im looking forward to have them back to complete one more bathroom! Thank you all so much! Keep up the great work!

We just got our new bathroom finished, and we can't say enough positive things about Two Day Bath & Shower because of their efforts. It started when Baxter gave us a comprehensive estimate after highlighting the kind of work they could do for us...we were very impressed. When they came to our home, Baxter and Hunter did an awesome job installing our beautiful shower system, vanity, toilet, floor, etc., and did other tasks to make sure our bathroom was as beautiful as it could be. We couldn't be more pleased. Shout out to Laura for taking good care of us when we were in the showroom and throughout the entire process, ensuring everything was scheduled. We couldn't be more pleased with their professionalism, communication skills, and the quality of their work. I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Five star all the way!

In 2017 Two Day Bath &Shower installed a shower for us. Great job. A few months ago one of the sliding glass door rollers began making a noise. Last week I contacted Two Day bath. Today the owner Rebin came. There is no replacement for the roller now. He removed a roller from the door not used and installed it. Door works great. It took about 1 hour to do this. Old roller is in the fixed door. Not a problem. He did this at no charge. Laura at customer was great at coordinating the schedule Great Company

I highly recommend Two Day Bath and Shower for your bath and shower renovations. They are an independent locally run option. The owner Reben the owner/ sales manager. Is very easy to work with, no long high pressure sales pitch. Laura the office manager/ showroom specialist. Is very knowledgeable in the business. And extremely helpful in designing our new tub/ shower. And Baxter and Hunter are wizards at transforming a tired old tub/ shower into a bright and cheerful room. They are tenacious in getting the installation done to perfection. Kudos to the whole organization. Two Bath and Shower are by far the best value for my money.

I have just had a very impressive experience with Two Day Bath & Shower who replaced a 50+ year old bathroom for me that had a very awkward and outdated configuration. From the initial consultation and immediate quote to the very end of the project they kept me informed continually of the exact timing and process. Baxter and Ray throughout a six day time frame were always professional, courteous, very punctual and conscientiously cleaned up the workspace daily before they left so I could live in the home without disruption. The end result is a beautiful and functional bathroom. We have had multiple projects go on over the last three years to repair this older home both interior and exterior and dealt with many service providers and I can honestly say that working with Baxter and his team at Two Day Bath and Shower has by far been the very best experience we have had to date. I would definitely hire them again.

I had two bathroom projects completed by Two Day Bath & Shower and honestly it was one of the best experiences with remodeling I have ever had. My house is labor intensive and not one complaint from the guys who did the work. They were polite, cleaned up everything and I just can’t say enough about the quality of the work. I am really happy with how my projects turned out. Actually, better than I imagined. Also, the gal that communicated with me through the whole process was amazing too. If you have a bathroom projects, look no further… these are your people. I am one very, very happy customer.
